Deeds Collection

We have a collection of over 1,600 deeds, mortgages, and leases covering historical and rural Petaluma areas. Notable items include oil leases, chattel mortgages, and quitclaim deeds. The documents span from 1861 to 1939 and include Ranchos Petaluma, Cotati, Arroyo and Laguna de la San Antonio, and Roblar de la Miseria. Come visit us or submit a research request to find out if your relative owned property in this area. Otherwise, ask us questions about the scandals of property disputes or to learn about the distribution of land from the original rancho land grants.
